Jeannette C. Richard, passed March 28, 2017 in Barefoot Bay, FL. Jeannette died peacefully at home after a brief but intense battle with Pancreatic Cancer.
Jeannette and John were the previous owners of Circle C Campground in Voluntown, CT from 1979 to 2007. They relished that time where their full-time job was simply making sure that everyone around them were having a good time. She was a consummate hostess and is known and remembered for her quick-wit and contagious sense of humor. After her retirement to Barefoot Bay in 2007, she continued to bless her family and new circle of friends with frequent laughs and fond memories of many good times.
Jeannette received her education at the Presentation of Mary Academy in Hudson, NH. She earned her Associates of Science in Nursing from Providence College. She completed her nursing training at the St Joseph’s Hospital School of Nursing. She was licensed as a Registered Nurse in Rhode Island and Connecticut. She worked as a Nurse for over 40 years in the areas of Medical-Surgical, Pediatrics and for the majority of her career as an Emergency Room Nurse.
When not at a shift, working as a nurse, she was always the consummate hostess. In her professional and personal life she seemed driven by one thing. She did everything in her power to ensure that everyone around her was having the best time possible and living life to the fullest measure.
Whether you were a sick child who needed consoling, a criminal who was being detained by the police and needed medical attention, the victim of a drunk driver, or even the actual drunk driver; everyone received the best care, treatment and education she could possibly provide.
If you were a guest in her home or a guest at her campground, she would not rest until everyone was fed, had a drink in their hand and a laugh in their belly. That is who she was and that is what she did.
